![]() Some swear by the Bobovr M2 Pro/plus but I ordered and returned one a little over a year ago because it was not comfortable for me as it created way too much pressure on my forehead, which is what halo straps without a top strap will do for some since you have to really tighten them to keep them from sliding. Nice thing is it isn't a pick one and you're stuck with it scenario so you can see which you prefer.įor strap, this will come to down to each person. I'd also rather give my 30% to Valve than farcebook.Īs an owner of the 2080ti who just got his 4090 today, I can say the 2080ti is solid for VR and you can have a very high quality experience with whichever option you choose. ![]() My advice and what I am now doing is buying PCVR games on Steam because that's easier in terms of compatibility for any future headsets that won't be part of the Quest/Oculus ecosystem. Virtual Desktop to me has better colour as I find air link a touch too oversaturated in some games.Īs for which platform, I believe Oculus works better with link/air link while Virtual Desktop I don't think really cares since you don't have to have both launchers opened if playing SteamVR games. ![]() Air link probably looks a touch better overall as it has a bit higher max bitrate and compression is slightly better but it's probably something nobody will really notice outside of back to back comparisons. I prefer Virtual Desktop because it has a much better UI and the ability to easily adjust settings on the fly. Both still look great and the latency with each is low enough that to me it feels like I'm still playing natively. If you actually want to use the Q2's main (IMO) selling feature of being untehtered then Virtual Desk or air link should work fine. For the first time in my 26 months of owning the Q2, I checked out wired link late last week with the bitrate cranked up and it looks pretty amazing, a clear improvement over Virtual Desktop and air link. If you're fine with being shackled to your PC and having a safety hazard dangling around your feet which greatly limits movement and decreases immersion (always need to think about the cable being there if the physical feeling of it isn't noticed) then by all means, use link since it will look the best and will have the lowest latency.
